Running ads 24/7 wastes budget. Here's how to identify your most profitable hours and focus your spend.
Ad scheduling (also known as dayparting) lets you choose specific days and hours when your ads appear. For service businesses that can't answer calls at 2am, running ads around the clock is wasteful. Smart scheduling concentrates your budget during the hours that generate the most leads.
Start by analysing your existing data. In Google Ads, segment your reports by day of week and hour of day to see when your conversions happen. Most service businesses see peak performance during weekday business hours (7am-7pm), with Monday and Tuesday typically being the strongest days.
Consider your response capability. If no one is available to answer calls on Sundays, pause your ads on Sundays unless you have a reliable answering service. Leads that go to voicemail convert at a fraction of the rate of answered calls. It's better to save that budget for Monday morning when you can respond immediately.
Use bid adjustments rather than completely pausing ads for borderline periods. If Saturday mornings generate leads but at a higher cost, reduce your Saturday bid by 30% rather than turning off entirely. If Wednesday evenings between 5-7pm are your best-converting slot, increase your bid by 20% to capture more of that high-intent traffic.
